What floor depth is needed to install this socket?

A minimum floor void or screed depth of 40mm is required to accommodate the 35mm back box and allow clearance for cable entry. Raised access floors typically provide sufficient depth, but solid concrete floors may need a void cut to at least 40mm below finished floor level.

Does the cover stay open when plugs are inserted?

Yes. The spring-loaded cover opens when pressed and stays open while plugs are inserted. When all plugs are removed, the cover closes automatically under spring tension to protect the outlets from dust and debris.

Can this be used in bathrooms or wet areas?

No. The IP20 rating means this socket is for indoor dry locations only. For wet areas or outdoor use, a socket with an IP rating of IP44 or higher is required.
