Description
The Knightsbridge FPR9940PC is a 13A 2-gang single-pole switched socket with one USB-A and one USB-C charging port, built into a polished chrome flat plate with a black insert. The USB ports share a 5V 4A output, providing device charging without occupying either of the two 13A outlets. The single-pole switching controls the live line to each socket, while the USB ports remain permanently live when the socket is switched off.
Designed for residential bedrooms, home offices, kitchens and living areas where mains and USB charging are both needed at a single wall position, the socket fits a standard 25-35mm back box depending on wiring conditions. The flat plate design projects just 2.5mm from the wall surface once installed, sitting nearly flush with the plasterwork. The built-in gasket behind the plate seals the gap between the metal and the wall, reducing dust ingress and giving a cleaner finish than traditional raised plates.
The polished chrome finish provides a bright metallic accent that pairs with modern, contemporary and transitional interiors. The black insert behind the chrome faceplate hides the back of the cover plate and defines the edge of each outlet aperture. The metal rockers match the chrome finish and sit flush with the plate surface when in the off position. The premium-grade steel construction and IP20 rating suit general indoor use in dry locations.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A minimum 25mm back box depth is needed, though 35mm may be required depending on cable volume and wiring configuration. The flat plate adds only 2.5mm projection from the wall once fitted.
What's the USB charging output?
The USB-A and USB-C ports share a combined 5V 4A output. This is sufficient to charge two phones simultaneously, or one tablet and one phone. Use certified USB cables for safe and efficient charging.
Does switching off the socket cut power to the USB ports?
No. The switches control only the 13A mains outlets. The USB ports remain permanently live when the socket is installed, allowing devices to charge overnight even when the main sockets are switched off.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces the flat plate USB socket range in multiple finishes including brushed chrome, polished brass, brushed brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
