Description

The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang SP switched socket adds USB-A and USB-C charging ports behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate with a white insert. The single-pole switching isolates the live line when the socket is switched off, suitable for standard domestic appliance loads. The dual USB ports share a combined 5V DC 4.0A output, allowing simultaneous charging of two devices.

Designed for residential and light commercial installation, the socket fits a standard 25-35mm back box depth depending on wiring conditions and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. The built-in gasket creates a tight seal against the wall, preventing dust and paint from entering behind the faceplate during installation or redecoration. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 2,990W per outlet.

The brushed chrome finish provides a cool metallic accent that pairs well with contemporary, industrial and minimalist interiors. A 25-35mm back box depth is required depending on wiring conditions. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

What's the USB charging output?

The dual USB ports provide a combined 5V DC 4.0A output shared between the USB-A and USB-C ports. When charging two devices simultaneously, the 4.0A is split between them. For fastest charging of a single device, use one port at a time.

What's the difference between SP and DP switching?

SP (single-pole) switching isolates only the live line when the socket is switched off. DP (double-pole) switching isolates both live and neutral, providing additional safety for high-draw appliances. For most domestic use, SP switching is sufficient.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The built-in gasket seals against the wall to prevent paint ingress. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring.
