Description

The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang DP switched socket integrates an automatic nightlight positioned at the base of the screwless matt black faceplate. A built-in photocell sensor activates the 0.8W LED nightlight when ambient light drops below 5-15 lux and deactivates it when brightness exceeds 20-40 lux, providing hands-free orientation lighting without manual switches or timers.

Designed for hallways, children's bedrooms, hotel guest rooms and care home corridors, the socket combines mains power outlets with low-level safety lighting in a single wall fitting. The 55-lumen LED casts a soft 4000K neutral white glow along the skirting line, sufficient to navigate a dark hallway or locate the socket in low light without overwhelming a sleeping room. The dual-pole switching isolates both live and neutral when switched off, adding safety for high-draw appliances.

The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate steel sub-frame fixed to the back box, leaving no visible screws or fixings on the wall once installed. The matt black finish provides a low-sheen surface that minimises fingerprints and reflections, pairing cleanly with contemporary, industrial and minimalist interiors. The socket accepts mounting box depths between 25mm and 35mm depending on cable management requirements, with twin earth terminals for flexible wiring on installation.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
