Description
The Knightsbridge CL9BCW is a 13A 2-gang DP switched socket with twin earth terminals, fitted behind a brushed chrome rounded edge plate with a white insert. The dual-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when switched off, providing additional safety over single-pole switching for high-draw appliances. The twin earth terminals support high-integrity earthing requirements in installations where additional earth bonding is specified.
Designed for residential, hospitality and commercial installation, the socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth. The rounded edge design incorporates a built-in gasket that sits flush against the wall surface, giving a softer profile than sharp-edged plates. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W per outlet. Both gangs are independently switched, allowing selective power control without isolating both outlets.
The brushed chrome finish provides a cool metallic accent that pairs well with modern, transitional and contemporary interiors. The white insert behind the chrome faceplate hides the back of the cover plate and gives a defined edge to each outlet aperture. The premium-grade steel construction carries a 25-year warranty and meets BS 1363:2 safety standards. The IP20 rating makes this suitable for dry indoor locations including living rooms, bedrooms, offices and commercial spaces.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The rounded edge plate adds approximately 7.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
What are twin earth terminals used for?
Twin earth terminals provide two separate earthing connection points on the socket back box. They are specified in installations requiring high-integrity earthing, supplementary bonding, or where additional earth continuity is needed for safety-critical circuits.
What does DP switching mean?
DP stands for dual-pole. DP switches isolate both the live and neutral conductors when switched off, providing additional safety over single-pole switches which only isolate the live. This is particularly useful for high-draw appliances like kettles, heaters and washing machines.
What other finishes are available in the rounded edge range?
Knightsbridge produces the rounded edge socket range in finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
