Description
The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang DP switched socket combines two standard UK outlets with one USB-C port (up to 27W output) and one USB-A port (up to 18W output) behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate with a grey insert. The dual-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the socket is switched off, providing additional safety for high-draw appliances and electronics.
Designed for residential kitchens, home offices, hotel rooms and commercial workspaces, the socket fits a standard 25-35mm back box depth depending on wiring conditions. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, leaving no visible screws or fixings on the wall once installed. The 13A rating on each outlet handles standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W per socket.
The USB-C port supports Power Delivery (PD) and Quick Charge (QC) protocols, delivering up to 45W when used alone or 27W when both USB ports charge devices simultaneously. The USB-A port provides 18W when sharing power. Built-in overload, overheat and overcurrent protection prevents damage to connected devices. The socket consumes 0.1W in standby mode, meeting ErP energy efficiency standards.
The brushed chrome finish provides a cooler, more reflective metallic accent than brass or copper tones, pairing well with contemporary, industrial and minimalist interiors. The grey insert behind the chrome faceplate creates a defined edge around each outlet aperture and hides the back of the cover plate. The premium-grade steel construction gives the socket a solid 4.3mm projection from the wall.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A 25-35mm back box depth is needed depending on the number of cables entering the box and how they're dressed. The 25mm minimum applies when cables enter from behind with minimal bulk. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
What's the difference between the USB-C and USB-A charging speeds?
The USB-C port delivers up to 45W when used alone, or 27W when both USB ports are charging devices simultaneously. The USB-A port provides up to 18W. Both support fast-charge protocols (PD and QC) and adapt power output to match the connected device's battery level and capacity.
Does the fast charge work with all devices?
Fast charge works with devices that support Power Delivery (PD) or Quick Charge (QC) protocols. Devices without these protocols will charge at standard USB speeds (typically 5V 1-2A). The socket automatically detects the device capability and adjusts output accordingly.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that's screwed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped afterwards without disturbing the wiring.
