Description

The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang DP switched socket adds one USB-A and one USB-C fast-charge port behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate with a black insert. The USB-C port delivers up to 45W output when used alone, sufficient to charge laptops, tablets and smartphones at PD (Power Delivery) and QC (Quick Charge) speeds. When both USB ports are in use simultaneously, output splits to 27W over USB-C and 18W over USB-A.

Designed for residential, office, hospitality and commercial installation, the socket fits a standard 25-35mm back box depth depending on wiring conditions and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. This means there are no visible screws or fixings on the wall once installed, giving a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the socket is switched off, providing additional safety over single-pole switching for high-draw appliances. Each outlet is rated to 13A, handling standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W per gang.

The brushed chrome finish provides a directional satin texture that reduces fingerprint visibility and pairs well with modern, industrial and contemporary interiors. The black insert behind the chrome faceplate hides the back of the cover plate and gives a defined edge to each outlet and USB port aperture. The socket construction uses premium-grade steel rather than plastic, giving improved durability in high-traffic commercial environments. Built-in overload, overheat and over-current protection prevents damage to connected devices, and the ErP-ready design draws just 0.1W in standby mode when no device is plugged into the USB ports.
