Description

The Knightsbridge 13A 1-gang unswitched floor socket mounts flush into floors in offices, hotel lobbies, conference rooms and open-plan living areas where wall sockets are impractical. A spring-loaded hinged cover sits 3mm proud of the floor surface when closed, protecting the outlet aperture from dust, debris and accidental contact. The polished chrome faceplate and white insert give a clean modern appearance that pairs with both commercial and residential fit-outs.

Designed for installation into a standard 35mm minimum back box depth, the socket is set into the floor screed or raised access floor with the cover sitting almost flush to the finished floor level. The spring-loaded mechanism allows the cover to be lifted with moderate pressure and closes automatically when released, keeping the outlet protected when not in use. The unswitched design means the socket is always live when the circuit is energised — suitable for permanent or semi-permanent appliance connections where switching at the outlet is not required.

The premium-grade steel construction provides mechanical durability under foot traffic in high-use commercial environments. The IP20 rating confirms protection against solid objects larger than 12.5mm (fingers, tools) but not against water ingress, so the socket must be installed in dry interior locations only.
