Description
The Knightsbridge 13A 1-gang SP switched socket adds dual USB fast-charge ports behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate with a grey insert. The USB ports deliver up to 18W over a single port or 20W shared across both ports (5V DC, 4.0A total), supporting PD and QC protocols for compatible devices. The single-pole switch isolates the live line when the socket is switched off, while the USB ports remain powered independently.
Designed for residential, hospitality and office installation where fast device charging is needed alongside standard 13A power, the socket fits a 35mm minimum back box depth. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, leaving no visible fixings on the wall once installed. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 2,990W, while the adaptive USB charging optimises voltage delivery for each connected device to prevent overcharging.
The brushed chrome finish provides a cool metallic accent that pairs well with contemporary and industrial interiors, while the grey insert behind the faceplate hides the back of the cover plate and defines each outlet aperture. Built-in overload, overheat and overcurrent protection guards against charging faults, and the socket consumes just 0.1W in standby. The unit is ErP Ready and carries IP20 rating for indoor use only.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A 35mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds approximately 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
What is the USB charging output?
The dual USB ports deliver 5V DC with a shared total of 4.0A (20W). A single port can deliver up to 18W when used alone. The ports support PD (Power Delivery) and QC (Quick Charge) protocols for compatible devices.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring.
Are the USB ports always powered?
Yes. The USB ports remain powered independently of the socket switch. The single-pole switch controls only the 13A mains outlet, allowing devices to charge overnight while the socket itself is switched off.
