Description
The Knightsbridge 13A 1-gang DP switched socket pairs a polished chrome flat plate with a grey insert and matching metal rocker switch. The flat plate design projects just 2.5mm from the wall once fitted to a 25mm minimum back box, giving a low-profile finish that sits close to the wall surface rather than proud of it.
Designed for residential and commercial installations where a clean metallic finish is needed, the socket works in kitchens, offices, bedrooms and hallways. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the switch is off, providing additional safety over single-pole switching for high-draw appliances. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 2,990W.
The polished chrome finish reflects light and pairs well with modern, contemporary and traditional interiors. The grey insert behind the chrome faceplate minimises visual contrast when a plug is connected, keeping attention on the metal finish rather than the outlet aperture. The premium-grade steel construction gives the plate rigidity and resistance to flexing under normal use, and the socket carries a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The flat plate adds just 2.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted, making it one of the lowest-profile socket options available.
What is double-pole switching?
Double-pole switching isolates both the live and neutral lines when the switch is turned off, rather than just the live line as in single-pole switching. This provides additional safety, particularly for high-draw appliances like kettles, toasters and heaters.
Is this socket screwless or screw-fixed?
This is a screw-fixed flat plate design. The fixing screws are visible on the faceplate. For a screwless finish, see Knightsbridge's screwless range where the cover plate clips onto a separate sub-frame.
What other finishes are available?
Knightsbridge produces this flat plate design in a range of finishes including brushed chrome, polished brass, brushed brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
