Description

We stock this 12W DALI dimmable LED driver as a constant-current power supply for compatible LED downlights and panels. It gives a regulated 300mA output and holds that current steady as the mains fluctuates, which keeps brightness consistent and helps prevent flicker. The DALI protocol means it dims as part of a wider control setup rather than on a simple wall dimmer.

The DALI wiring connects to a compatible DALI dimmer or a building management system, so it fits well where you want programmable dimming scenes across several fittings rather than one-off manual control. It is made to sit out of sight above the ceiling or in a void, feeding a downlight or panel below.

This is a constant-current driver rated at 12W with a 300mA output, so match it to a load and driver current your fitting is specified for. Because it is a DALI unit it needs a DALI control line, not a standard trailing- or leading-edge dimmer. As with any mains device, it should be fitted by a qualified electrician in line with the wiring regulations. The driver is sold on its own; the light fitting and DALI controller are separate.

Frequently Asked

How does this driver dim?

It dims over the DALI protocol, so it needs a compatible DALI dimmer or a building management system. It will not dim on a standard trailing- or leading-edge wall dimmer.

What does the 300mA rating mean?

It is a constant-current driver with a 300mA output, so it holds that current steady to keep your LED brightness consistent. Match it to a fitting rated for 300mA drive.

How is this different from the non-DALI 12W driver?

This is the DALI dimmable version. We also list a plain 12W constant-current 300mA driver in white for fixed-output installs that do not need DALI dimming.

Does it need an electrician to fit?

Yes. It is a mains-powered driver and should be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the wiring regulations.
