Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 4-gang 2-way toggle switch provides four independent lighting circuits behind a single brushed chrome faceplate with a rounded edge profile. Each toggle controls a 10AX-rated circuit (up to 2,300W at 230V), suitable for standard domestic lighting loads including LED, halogen and incandescent lamps. The 2-way switching allows each circuit to be controlled from two locations, making it suitable for staircases, hallways and larger rooms where access points exist at opposite ends.
Designed for living rooms, kitchens and open-plan spaces where multiple lighting zones need independent control from a single switch plate, the 4-gang configuration consolidates wiring and reduces the number of faceplates on a wall. The rounded edge profile projects 25.9mm from the wall once fitted, with softened corners that reduce snagging on clothing and provide a more forgiving surface in high-traffic areas. The brushed chrome finish is 304 stainless steel, offering resistance to corrosion and tarnishing in environments with fluctuating humidity.
The switch requires a minimum 16mm back box depth for installation and is fixed with screws visible on the faceplate (this is not a screwless variant). The IP20 rating limits installation to dry indoor areas only — not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens within splash zones, or outdoor locations. Knightsbridge backs this switch with a 25-year guarantee and EN 60669-1 certification for compliance with UK wiring regulations.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows each of the four lighting circuits to be controlled from two separate switch locations. This is useful for staircases, hallways and larger rooms where you need to turn lights on or off from either end of the space. If you only need single-location control, this switch will still work but you would only wire one of the two terminals per gang.
What back box depth is required?
A minimum 16mm back box depth is needed. The switch projects 25.9mm from the wall once installed, with the faceplate itself being 7.5mm thick.
Is this a screwless faceplate?
No. This is a traditional screw-fixed faceplate with visible screws at the top and bottom corners. For screwless variants in this finish, search for Knightsbridge models with "screwless" in the product name.
Can it be used in bathrooms or outdoors?
No. The IP20 rating limits installation to dry indoor areas only. It is not suitable for bathrooms (even outside splash zones due to humidity), kitchens within splash zones, or any outdoor location.
