Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 4-gang 2-way switch controls four independent lighting circuits from two separate locations, housed behind a gunmetal flat plate with matching metal rockers. Each gang is rated at 10AX, handling lighting loads up to 2,300W per circuit on a 230V supply. The 2-way switching configuration allows each circuit to be operated from two different wall positions, suited to dual-entry rooms, hallways, staircases and open-plan spaces where light control is needed at multiple points.
The flat plate design projects just 2.5mm from the wall surface, giving an ultra-low profile that sits almost flush with the plasterwork. The gunmetal finish is applied to premium-grade steel, providing a dark grey-charcoal tone with a subtle metallic sheen that pairs with industrial, contemporary and transitional interiors. The matching metal rockers maintain a monochrome aesthetic without visible contrasting insert colours.
A built-in gasket behind the faceplate seals against dust ingress, and the switch carries an IP20 rating for general indoor dry-location use. The plate measures 147.5mm wide by 87.5mm high and requires a minimum 16mm back box depth for installation. The fixing holes are positioned to suit standard UK back boxes. EN 60669-1 certification confirms compliance with UK electrical safety standards for switches rated above 6A.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows each of the four lighting circuits to be controlled from two separate wall switch positions. For example, a hallway light can be turned on at one end and off at the other. This requires a second matching 2-way switch wired to the same circuit at the second location.
What back box depth is required?
A minimum 16mm back box depth is needed for safe installation. The shallow projection of the flat plate design means a standard 25mm or 35mm back box is also compatible and provides additional wiring space.
What is the maximum load per gang?
Each gang is rated at 10AX, which handles up to 2,300W per circuit on a 230V supply. This is sufficient for multiple LED downlights, fluorescent tubes or up to approximately 10-15 traditional incandescent bulbs per circuit.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces the Flat Plate range in multiple finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, brushed brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
