Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 3-gang 2-way plate switch controls three independent lighting circuits from two separate locations, housed behind a brushed chrome square edge faceplate with matching metal rockers. Each gang is rated at 10AX on 230V mains, handling loads up to 2,300W per circuit, making it suitable for high-wattage lighting installations including multi-bulb chandeliers, halogen downlight arrays, and commercial fluorescent circuits.
Designed for residential, hospitality and commercial installation, the switch fits a standard 16mm minimum mounting box depth and uses screw terminals for solid cable connection. The 2-way configuration allows each of the three circuits to be controlled from this switch and a second switch elsewhere in the room, a common requirement for staircases, long corridors, and rooms with multiple entry points. The integrated gasket behind the faceplate limits dust ingress and provides an IP20 rating for general indoor use.
The brushed chrome finish is applied to premium-grade steel, giving a directional satin texture that reduces fingerprint visibility compared to polished finishes. The square edge profile sits flush with the wall without a raised bevelled edge, suiting modern and contemporary interiors where clean lines are prioritised. Each rocker is colour-matched to the faceplate, maintaining visual consistency across the plate surface. The switch carries EN 60669-1 certification and a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows each of the three lighting circuits to be controlled from two separate switch locations. This is commonly used for staircases, long corridors, and rooms with multiple entry points where you need to operate the same lights from either end of the space.
What's the maximum load per gang?
Each gang is rated at 10AX on 230V, handling up to 2,300W per circuit. This makes the switch suitable for high-wattage lighting installations including multi-bulb chandeliers, halogen downlight arrays, and commercial fluorescent circuits.
What back box depth is required?
A 16mm minimum mounting box depth is needed for safe installation. The switch projects 10.5mm from the wall once fitted, giving a total depth requirement of approximately 26.5mm from the wall surface to the back of the mounting box.
Is the brushed chrome finish resistant to fingerprints?
The directional satin texture of the brushed chrome finish reduces fingerprint visibility compared to polished chrome, though heavy use areas may still show marks over time. The finish can be wiped clean with a dry microfibre cloth.
