Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 2-gang 2-way toggle switch controls two separate lighting circuits from two locations each, behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate. The 10AX rating handles loads up to 2,300W per gang on 230V mains, making it suitable for high-output LED circuits, multiple downlight arrays, and standard domestic lighting loads.
Designed for hallways, through lounges, staircases and other spaces where lights need control from multiple entry points, the 2-way configuration pairs with a second switch elsewhere in the room to allow the same light to be switched on or off from either position. The dual-gang format controls two separate circuits independently from the same wall plate, reducing the number of separate switches needed in high-traffic areas.
The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate steel sub-frame, leaving no visible fixings once installed. The brushed chrome finish shows a linear grain texture that softens reflections compared to polished chrome and pairs with contemporary, industrial and transitional interiors. The 87.5mm square faceplate sits 4.3mm proud of the wall surface once fitted, and requires a minimum 16mm back box depth for safe installation. An integral gasket behind the plate protects internal components from dust ingress and meets IP20 rating for dry indoor use.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows the same light to be controlled from two different switch locations. This switch pairs with another 2-way switch elsewhere in the room, so you can turn the light on or off from either position. Common in hallways, staircases and through-lounges.
What's the difference between 10A and 10AX rating?
10AX is rated for higher inrush current than standard 10A switches, making it more suitable for circuits with multiple LED drivers or transformer-fed low-voltage lighting that can cause current spikes on switching.
Can the screwless plate be removed for redecorating?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a steel sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed without disconnecting wiring, allowing you to paint around the switch and re-clip the plate afterwards.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces this screwless toggle switch style in polished chrome, matt black, polished brass, antique brass, white and other finishes. Use the search or filter function to find other variants in stock at Niori.
