Description
The Knightsbridge M3000 is a 10AX 2-gang 2-way metal clad switch supplied with an integrated back box constructed from premium grade steel. The switch face and housing are finished in a powder coated metallic grey that resists chipping and wear in high-traffic environments. Both rocker switches are white with visible fixings on the faceplate.
Designed for garages, workshops, commercial kitchens, industrial settings and utility rooms where surface-mounted switching is needed without chasing walls for flush back boxes, the metal clad construction provides impact resistance beyond standard plastic switches. The integrated back box projects 45mm from the wall when surface-mounted, eliminating the need for separate back box installation. The 2-way switching configuration allows control of the same circuit from two different switch locations, making it suitable for room entrances, stairwells and corridors.
The 10AX rating handles loads up to 2,300W on 230V mains, covering most domestic and light commercial lighting circuits. The screw terminals accept standard UK wiring, and the earth terminal provides Class I earthing for metallic installations. The powder coated finish on the steel housing gives a durable surface that withstands knocks, moisture exposure and temperature variation better than painted alternatives. Certified to EN 60669-1 and backed by Knightsbridge's 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
Does this need a separate back box?
No. The M3000 is supplied with an integrated metal back box as part of the housing. It surface-mounts directly onto the wall with no need for a separate recessed back box, making it suitable for solid walls, workshops and garages where chasing out for flush boxes is not practical.
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows the same light or circuit to be controlled from two different switch locations. This is commonly used at the top and bottom of stairs, at opposite ends of a corridor, or where a room has two entry points.
What load can it handle?
The 10AX rating handles loads up to 2,300W on 230V mains. This covers most domestic and light commercial lighting circuits. For higher loads or motor-switching applications, contact us for guidance.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
No. The IP20 rating means this switch is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It is not weatherproof and should not be used outdoors or in areas exposed to moisture or rain.
