Description

The Knightsbridge 10AX 1-gang 2-way switch controls lighting circuits from two locations, fitted behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate with a matching metal rocker. The 10AX rating handles loads up to 2,300W on 230V mains, making it suitable for standard domestic lighting circuits including those with multiple fittings or higher-draw halogen downlights.

Designed for residential and commercial installation, the 2-way switching function allows a single light or circuit to be controlled from two separate wall positions, commonly used on staircases, hallways, and bedrooms where access points sit at opposite ends of the room. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, leaving no visible screws or fixings on the wall once installed.

The brushed chrome finish applies a directional grain to the steel surface, reducing reflectivity compared to polished chrome and minimising visible fingerprints during daily use. The 87.5mm square faceplate sits 4.3mm proud of the wall and requires a minimum 16mm back box depth for safe installation. The built-in gasket behind the faceplate creates a tight seal against the wall, preventing dust and debris from entering around the plate edge.

Certified to EN 60669-1 standards and carrying a 25-year manufacturer warranty, the switch is constructed from premium-grade steel throughout, including the rocker mechanism. The earth terminal is accessible via the back box for earthing the metal faceplate, meeting IP20 rating requirements for indoor dry locations.
