Description

The Knightsbridge EX3T is a 100mm extractor fan with an LED backlight ring around the grille that activates during operation, and an adjustable overrun timer that continues extraction for 2-30 minutes after the fan is switched off. The fan is rated at 23 litres per second (83m³/hr) and operates at 28.5-30dBA at 3m, making it quieter than most bathroom extractor fans at the same airflow.

Designed for ceiling or wall installation in bathrooms, toilets, ensuites and utility rooms, the fan fits a 102mm cut-out and projects 48.7mm from the surface once fitted, with 78.4mm recessed behind the wall or ceiling. The IP45 rating makes it suitable for Zone 1 bathroom installation (areas within 2.25m of a shower or bath). The fan complies with Building Regulations Part F (ventilation) and Part L (energy efficiency), with a specific fan power of 0.438W/(l/s).

The white ABS grille and housing provide a clean finish that pairs with standard white bathroom fittings. The LED backlight is decorative rather than functional — it provides a subtle glow during operation but is not intended to light the room. The overrun timer keeps the fan running after the switch is turned off, continuing to extract moisture for a set period. It is preset to 2 minutes but can be adjusted between 2-30 minutes during installation by turning a dial or potentiometer inside the housing. This ensures moisture is fully extracted even after you leave the room.

Can this be installed in a bathroom shower area?

Yes. The IP45 rating makes it suitable for Zone 1 bathroom installation, which covers areas within 2.25m horizontally and vertically from a shower or bath. It cannot be installed inside the shower enclosure itself (Zone 0), but is safe for ceiling or wall mounting in the wider bathroom.

How loud is this fan in practice?
