Description

This Knightsbridge 100mm extractor fan combines an adjustable overrun timer with an integrated humidistat, running at 9.7W on 230V mains to extract 87m³/hr through a 102mm wall or ceiling aperture. The humidistat detects excess moisture and activates the fan automatically when humidity exceeds preset thresholds of 60%, 70%, 80% or 90% RH, while the overrun timer continues extraction for 1, 5, 15 or 30 minutes after the fan is switched off or humidity drops back to normal levels.

Designed for bathrooms, ensuites, utility rooms and WCs where condensation control is needed, the fan sits flush to the wall or ceiling with a 49.9mm frontal projection and 78.5mm recessed depth behind the surface. The IP45 rating allows installation in bathroom Zone 1, meaning it can be fitted above a bath or within shower enclosures at 2.25m height or above. The ABS casing is double-insulated and does not require an earth connection, simplifying the wiring run from a switched fused spur or ceiling pull-cord.

A built-in backdraught shutter closes when the fan is not running, preventing cold air ingress and heat loss through the duct. At 28.5dBA measured at 3 metres, the fan runs quieter than most domestic refrigerators, making it suitable for late-night use in homes where noise transmission between rooms is a concern. The white ABS faceplate matches standard UK bathroom fittings and the fan is Part F and Part L Building Regulations compliant, meeting the minimum continuous mechanical extraction requirements for new-build and renovation projects.

The integrated humidistat monitors relative humidity and activates the fan when levels exceed your chosen threshold: 60%, 70%, 80% or 90% RH. You can also set interval functions for 4, 8, 12 or 24 hours to control how frequently the fan checks humidity levels.
