Description

The Zero Round is a round ceiling canopy for four pendants, and it is the part that carries and powers them. It gives no light of its own. Four outlets are set into its flat face, each holding one pendant. Four built-in drivers of 60W each feed the pendants at 24V DC. The canopy is 32.5cm across and only 3.8cm deep, so it sits close to the ceiling as a slim, flat disc. It comes in six finishes: White, Black, Brushed Champagne, Brushed Bronze, Brushed Brass and Brushed Titanium.

It belongs to the Zero range and works as the ceiling rose for a group of up to four pendants. These are Zero Round, Zero Square or Zero Ellipse pendants, each sold separately, which give the light while the canopy powers them. Nothing lights up until they are hung from it. Four pendants from one canopy suit a dining table, a stairwell or a long open-plan room, where light spread across several points works better than a single fitting. No IP rating is given, so it is for dry rooms indoors only. We would choose the finish to sit with the ceiling. White disappears against a white ceiling, while the brushed finishes and Black make more of it.

Because the four drivers are built into the canopy, the pendants need no separate power supply. It runs on 230V mains and feeds them at 24V DC. It is wired in to the mains, so it is for a qualified electrician to install. It is dimmable by DALI or push, so decide which suits your home's controls and tell your electrician when the work is planned. The practical upshot is one slim fitting that carries, powers and dims your pendants from a single tidy disc on the ceiling, leaving you only the finish and the pendants to choose.
