Description

The Ypsilon LED wall light is a single chrome blade that rises at an angle from a slim rectangular block fixed to the wall, a clean line of bright chrome with nothing fussy about it. It stands 61cm tall, the block it springs from is 20.5cm tall and just 3cm wide, and the whole fitting comes 14cm out from the wall. Its light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 13W and gives 1046 lumens at 3000K, a warm white, with a CRI of 90, so wood, fabric and skin keep their true colour.

We like it in living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms, anywhere a wall wants a quiet line of light rather than a bulky fitting. A pair either side of a bed or a sideboard looks balanced, and a single one breaks up a long, plain wall beautifully. The light spreads softly onto the wall around the blade, so it gives a gentle background glow rather than a hard spot, which suits relaxed evenings and dinner alike. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and it is made for indoor use.

The chrome finish gives both the blade and its block a bright, mirror-like surface that picks up the colours of the room around it, so it sits as happily against white plaster as against a darker painted wall. It runs on 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician, so the fitting stays clean on the wall with no cable to hide. It is not dimmable, so it simply switches on and off at full output. With no bulb ever to replace and a warm 3000K white, it is a light you choose once and leave to do its job.
