Description

Venexia is an outdoor floor lamp 95cm tall: a slim wood column rising from a round matt brass base to a clear glass head 22cm across, topped with a brass cap. The light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 8W and gives 594 lumens of warm 2700K light, which glows through the rim of the glass and falls softly onto the ground around it. With a colour rendering index of 80, the light shows planting, stone and timber in their natural colours. The finish is Wood & Matt Brass, the warm grain of the wood set against the gentle sheen of the brass.

Rated IP65, it is made for outdoor use: it is protected against dust and against jets of water, so rain is no concern. We like it lining a garden path, standing at the edge of a lawn or terrace, or beside a deck where people sit out on summer evenings. At 95cm the head sits around hip height, close enough to the ground to light the way underfoot. A few together mark out a route through planting or along the side of a patio. It is just as at home indoors, in a living room, where the wood and brass sit happily beside timber furniture.

It runs on mains power at 230V and is a Class II fitting, which means it is double insulated. The light is not dimmable, so it gives its full 594 lumens whenever it is on; for a softer effect in one spot, set it further back from where you sit. The build is simple: a wood column, a matt brass finish on the base and cap, and a clear glass head that catches and spreads the light. Allow for its 95cm height and 22cm head when you choose where it stands.
