The Tubino is a slim aluminium table lamp in a brushed titanium finish. It is built around a single cylindrical head that angles off a thin upright stem. A green cable loops from the top of the stem down to the head, and the lamp stands on a low, round base. It is 48cm tall, with a head 23cm tall and 4cm across and a base 10.4cm across, so it needs very little space on a table. The light comes from an integrated LED of 6.5W giving 339 lumens, so there is no bulb to buy or change. With a CRI of 90, colours look true under it.

We see it on a bedside table or a side table in the living room. There the narrow head sends light down onto a book or a chair arm without lighting the whole room. It comes in two colour temperatures, 3000K or 2700K: 3000K is a soft, clean white, and 2700K is warmer and suits a bedroom in the evening. You choose one when you order. It dims in steps, so you can turn it down for a gentler light late in the day. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The brushed titanium finish gives the aluminium a soft grey sheen. The plain lines of the stem, the short arm and the base sit quietly beside wood, stone or painted furniture. The green cable against the grey metal is the one note of colour. It plugs in and runs at 230V, so there is nothing to wire: stand it within reach of a socket and it is ready. With the LED and step dimming built in, there is nothing else to buy before you switch it on. It has a plug on its cable, and we include a UK adaptor in the box, so it is ready for a UK socket.
