Description

The Toy R is a long, slim LED wall light, 43.7cm wide and 9cm tall, with softly rounded ends and a clean, flat face. It lights both up and down the wall, so one fitting lays a soft wash of light above and below itself rather than a hard spot. The light source is an integrated LED drawing 26W, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and with a CRI of 90 it shows wood, fabric and skin in their true colours. It comes in White, Black, Brushed Bronze, Brushed Brass or Brushed Titanium, and in a choice of 2700K or 3000K, with 2700K the warmer of the two.

We think it suits a living room, a dining room or a bedroom best, where a gentle glow on the wall does more for the mood than a bright ceiling light. In a living room it softens a long, bare wall; in a dining room a pair either side of a mirror or sideboard looks balanced; in a bedroom it sits neatly above a chest of drawers or either side of the bed. Because it is long and slim, a run of them spaced along one wall gives an even rhythm of light. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

The Toy R runs at 230V and is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. It is sold in two dimming versions: Non-dimmable, for a light you simply switch on and off, and Phase-cut dimmable, which works with a compatible dimmer so you can bring the light down in the evening. The brushed finishes show a fine, even grain, while White and Black give a plainer, quieter look. When you order, choose the finish, the colour temperature and the dimming version together, and pick the Phase-cut dimmable version if a dimmer is planned for that wall.
