Description

The Techo is a round outdoor ceiling light built from a shallow die-cast aluminium body, 150mm across and standing 153mm off the ceiling. A frosted tempered glass diffuser fills the underside, so the light comes through soft and even rather than as a hard spot. Lit, it gives a gentle downward wash over a porch, a canopy or a covered doorway; unlit, the white rim and glass disc read as a low, plain circle against the ceiling.

The fitting takes one GU10 lamp, which is not included, so the tone and brightness are yours to set: fit a warm 3000K lamp for a soft entrance glow or a cooler 4000K one for a crisper light, up to 20W. The frosted glass sits over the lamp and spreads the beam, softening the source so it is comfortable to stand under. It is a close-to-ceiling light for a sheltered spot rather than a wide area light for an open garden.

The body is powder-coated die-cast aluminium in white with a frosted clear tempered glass diffuser, rated IP54 against dust and splashing so it suits a covered outdoor ceiling as well as a utility room or porch. It wires straight to the 220 to 240 volt mains with no separate driver, and we supply it ready to fix and wire, with the GU10 bulb to be added.

What kind of light does the Techo give?

A soft downward wash. The frosted tempered glass diffuser spreads the GU10 beam so the light comes through even rather than as a hard spot, lighting a porch, canopy or covered doorway from close to the ceiling. The tone depends on the GU10 lamp you fit.

Does it come with a bulb?

No. It takes one GU10 lamp up to 20W, which is not included, so you choose the tone and brightness: a warm 3000K for a soft glow or a cooler 4000K for a crisper light. The GU10 cap is replaceable, so you can swap it later.

Can it be used outdoors?

Yes, under cover. It is rated IP54 against dust and splashing water in a die-cast aluminium body, so it suits a porch ceiling, a canopy or a covered doorway, as well as a utility room, rather than a fully open, rain-exposed position.

How big is it and where does it suit?

It is a round ceiling light 150mm across and 153mm deep, sitting close to the ceiling. That compact size suits a porch, a covered entrance or a small utility ceiling in the white finish, with a smaller 90mm version in the same range.
