Description

Superbold is a round LED wall and ceiling light, and this one comes in a Textured Terracotta finish. A white ring of light sits around a centre disc in the same finish, framed by a wide outer rim, so the fitting reads as a set of simple circles whether it is lit or not. It measures 62.3cm across and 9.9cm in height, a generous size that still sits close to the surface it is fixed to. The light source is an integrated LED of 32W, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and it gives 2122lm or 2165lm depending on the version. With a CRI of 90, colours in the room look natural under it.

It fits on a ceiling or on a wall, and we think it works well either way. On a living room wall it gives a soft glow that suits evenings, and a pair spaced along a long wall makes a calm rhythm. On a ceiling it makes a wide, shallow fitting for a dining room, bedroom, hallway or landing where a hanging pendant would feel too much. It comes in two colour temperatures, 2700K or 3000K: choose 2700K for a warmer, cosier light, or 3000K for a slightly crisper white that suits a study or home office. It is rated IP40, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.

The Textured Terracotta finish gives the surface a gentle texture, and its warm, earthy colour sits well against plaster, timber and natural fabrics. It runs on 230V mains power and is wired in by a qualified electrician. It is dimmable by phase cut, so pair it with a compatible dimmer to bring the light down for quieter evenings. Because the LED is built in, there is nothing else to buy: once it is fixed in place, it is ready to use.
