Description

Superbold is a round LED light that fits on a ceiling or on a wall. It is a shallow disc 44.3cm across and just 7.8cm high. Its light source is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or replace. The light glows through a white ring set between the outer rim, in the finish you choose, and a central disc. This gives a soft, even halo rather than a hard point of brightness. It gives 1414 or 1443 lumens, depending on the version, with a colour rendering index of 90, so wood, fabric and skin tones look true under it.

We sell it in six finishes: Brushed Champagne, Matt Black, Brushed Bronze, Textured Myrtle Blue, Textured Soft White and Textured Terracotta. It also comes in 2700K or 3000K light. The 2700K version gives a warmer glow for living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms. The 3000K version is a little crisper for hallways, landings and studies. Because it sits close to the surface, it works well under lower ceilings, and a few spaced along a wall or down a corridor make a calm, repeating line of light. It is rated IP40, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.

It runs on 230V mains power and is wired in by a qualified electrician, on the ceiling or the wall, whichever suits the room. It is dimmable with a compatible phase-cut dimmer, so you can bring it down to a low glow in the evening and up again for reading or tidying. Its slim outline means it sits as part of the wall or ceiling rather than hanging from it. When you order, choose the finish and the colour temperature together, as each light is made in one of each, and make sure your dimmer is a compatible phase-cut model.
