Description

The Solid SH Sens 160 is a long, slim cylinder LED pendant light that hangs level, a single straight tube 164cm long and 4.5cm across. Its light source is integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 25W and gives 3650lm of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, which keeps food, wood and skin tones looking natural. It comes in four finishes: Black, Brass, White and Aluminium, so you can match it to the hardware and colours already in the room.

It is made for a dining room, where its length runs the full span of a long table, and it works just as well over a sideboard or a reading area in a living room. The two suspension cables sit 148cm apart, which helps you centre it over the table, and the drop can go up to 350cm, so it suits a standard ceiling or a tall one. It is rated IP20, so it belongs in dry rooms only. Because it is dimmable, you can turn it right down with a compatible dimmer for a quiet supper and bring it up again for homework or a game of cards.

The design is by Josep Lluís Xuclà, who kept it to a clean, plain tube with the LED built into its length, hung level from two fine suspension cables. It runs on mains power and is wired in by a qualified electrician, and it is a Class I fitting, which means it is earthed. Pick the finish that suits your room, whether Black, Brass, White or Aluminium; the length, drop and light output stay the same whichever you choose. Nothing else needs ordering alongside it: the light source comes built in, so once it is installed it is ready to switch on and dim. Our photographs show the brass version.
