Description

The Soho Surface 48V Track is a 300cm length of low-voltage lighting track, the straight run at the heart of the Soho Surface system. It is a slim, squared profile with a section of 2.7cm by 2.3cm, so it reads as a neat line in a room rather than a bulky fitting. We offer it in white or black: white sits quietly against a light surface, while black gives a crisp, graphic line. The track runs at 48V DC and gives no light of its own; it carries power along its length to the fittings that attach to it.

It needs the rest of the Soho Surface system, each part sold separately: the parts that feed it with power and the light fittings that attach to it and give the light. Because it runs at 48V DC, it needs its own power supply rather than a direct mains connection. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only. That still leaves plenty of places it suits: a living room or dining room, a long hallway, a study, a bedroom, or a shop or gallery where you want light set along one clean line over pictures, shelving or a counter.

The profile is an open channel running its whole length, with the conductors that carry the power set back inside it, and a groove along the top edge. The finish is even from end to end, in white or black, and the squared section keeps the line tidy. As part of a low-voltage system, it is for a qualified electrician to install, together with the other parts. A practical note before you order: measure the line you want to light, decide where the fittings will sit along it, and choose white or black to suit the room.
