The Silver Ring is a slim white ring of light, 183cm across and just 8cm deep, for fitting on a ceiling or on a wall. Its integrated LED gives 7850 lumens from 110W, so there is no bulb to buy or change. The light comes from the face of the ring turned away from the ceiling or wall, and the open centre lets the surface behind it show through, so even at this size it looks light rather than heavy. The colour temperature is 3000K, a warm white that suits a home, and a CRI of 90 means colours, fabrics and artwork look true under it.

At 183cm this is a ceiling light or wall light for big rooms: a large living room, an open-plan living and dining space, a gallery, or a wide hall with a high ceiling. On a ceiling one ring gives a broad, even wash of light across the room; on a wall it becomes the centrepiece, a circle of warm light above a sofa or a sideboard. Two or more spaced along a long ceiling or wall make a striking group in a generous space. It is rated IP40, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.

The ring is finished in white, and its LED is built in rather than fitted as a separate lamp. It runs on 230V mains power and is wired in by a qualified electrician. It dims in one of two ways: through a DALI control system, or by push dimming from a compatible push switch, so it can join a DALI lighting setup or work from a switch on the wall. Decide which before the fitting goes up, so your electrician wires it to suit. Before you order, we suggest measuring the space: you need a clear stretch of ceiling or wall at least 183cm across.
