Description

The Serano is a 300mm travertine disc wall light with an opal glass globe set off-centre against a circular light beige stone backplate. A single G9 lamp behind the globe casts a soft diffused glow across the stone, lifting the natural pores, mineral flecks and tonal variation in the travertine. The fitting projects 130mm from the wall and is secured with a small brass-finish thumb screw at the lower edge of the disc.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and reading corners, the Serano works as an ambient wall accent rather than a primary task light. Mounted singly above a console or beside a bed, it acts as a sculptural detail at eye level. Installed in pairs either side of a headboard or aligned along a corridor at 1.5-1.8m centres, the discs create rhythm and a warm wash of light across the surrounding wall.

Each backplate is cut from natural travertine, so the veining, surface pitting and beige tonal variation differ between individual fittings. The stone is left with its characteristic open-pored finish rather than filled and polished, which means light grazing across the disc reveals texture rather than reflecting off it. The opal glass globe softens the G9 lamp into an even diffused source and contrasts cleanly against the warm earthy tones of the travertine.

The Serano takes a single G9 capsule bulb, which is sold separately. A 3-4W LED G9 in 2700K-3000K typically pairs well with the warm tones of the travertine and gives a soft ambient output through the opal glass.

Does the travertine vary between pieces?

Yes. Each disc is cut from natural travertine, so the veining, surface pitting and beige tonal variation differ between individual fittings. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The Serano does not carry a published IP rating in its specification, so it should be installed in dry indoor locations only. It is not suitable for bathroom zones or external use.

How is the travertine cleaned?

Travertine is porous and benefits from gentle dry cleaning. Use a soft dry cloth or a dusting brush to remove dust from the open pores. Avoid water, sprays and chemical cleaners, which can stain or discolour the stone.
