The Knightsbridge 3-gang screwless grid faceplate is a brushed chrome cover plate measuring 148mm x 88mm, designed to clip onto a separate GDS002F grid frame (sold separately). The faceplate is manufactured from premium-grade steel with a directional brushed finish that hides minor scratches and fingerprints better than polished chrome.

This faceplate is part of Knightsbridge's modular grid system, which allows electricians and installers to build custom switch and socket configurations using individual grid modules (dimmers, switches, data outlets, TV/satellite sockets) and a single shared frame. The screwless design means the visible face of the plate has no fixings or screw heads — the cover clips onto the metal frame beneath, which is screwed to the back box during installation.

The 3.5mm projection from the wall gives a low-profile finish once installed. The IP20 rating confirms the faceplate is suitable for dry indoor locations (living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, offices) but not bathrooms or outdoor settings. What else is needed to complete the installation?

You need one GDS002F grid frame (sold separately), which mounts to the back box and holds the individual grid modules. The modules themselves (switches, dimmers, sockets, data outlets) are also sold separately and clip into the frame. The faceplate then clips onto the assembled frame as the final finishing piece.

Is the faceplate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The screwless cover plate unclips from the grid frame beneath, allowing you to paint or wallpaper around the installed grid without disconnecting the wiring. Once decorating is complete, the cover clips back into place.

What finishes are available in this range?
