Description

The Rose is a modern cluster chandelier built from two square frames, 30cm and 45cm, set one above the other, with four slim cylindrical shades hanging below them on textile cable. Its smooth brass structure is finished in matt polished brass, a soft, low-sheen brass that keeps the look calm rather than shiny. It comes in three sizes, named for the height of the shades: the 16cm size has 16cm shades, the 25cm size has 25cm shades and the 40cm size has 40cm shades, and every size hangs from a 10cm canopy. The open frames read as fine lines in the air, so the brass shades do the talking.

We would hang it over a dining table, where the cluster gathers the light above the plates, or in a hallway, a living room or a home office that suits a modern look. The 16cm size sits neatly over a smaller table or in a room with a lower ceiling, the 25cm size suits a family dining table, and the 40cm size, with the longest shades, has the presence for a taller room. It hangs on 2.5m of textile cable. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry indoor rooms only.

The shades take GU10 mini lamps, which are not included, so you can choose the lamps you prefer. It runs on 220-240V mains and works on an ordinary on-off switch, and as a mains fitting it is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 3 year guarantee. For styling, the matt polished brass sits happily with dark timber, white walls or a deep green paint, and the open square frames keep the cluster light to the eye, even over a long table.
