Description
The Risa is a single-light wall fitting built around an inverted U-shaped brushed brass arch, with a 120mm natural Spanish alabaster globe suspended from one end and a solid brass spherical counterweight hanging from the other. The fitting stands 400mm tall, measures 190mm wide and projects 125mm from the wall, taking a single G9 bulb housed inside the alabaster shade.
Designed as decorative and ambient wall lighting, the Risa suits bedside positions either side of a headboard, hallway runs at intervals of 1.5-2m, and living room walls flanking a fireplace or mirror. The compact 190mm width keeps the fitting close to the wall plane, so it works in narrower hallways and reading nooks where a deeper sconce would intrude. Mounting is via a circular brass back plate that fits a standard UK wall back box.
The arch is formed from solid copper finished in brushed brass, giving the metal a warm satin sheen that softens reflections under both daylight and lamplight. The alabaster globe is cut from natural Spanish stone, so each shade carries its own veining pattern in cream and pale gold tones. When the G9 bulb is lit, light passes through the stone and reveals the internal marbling, turning the globe into the diffuser rather than relying on a separate shade.
The spherical brass counterweight on the opposite arm mirrors the form of the alabaster globe and balances the composition visually, even though the fitting is fixed rather than truly counterweighted. The pairing of curved brass, solid stone and rounded forms gives the Risa a sculptural presence without dominating the wall.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Risa take?
The fitting takes a single G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. Most users pair it with a 2.5-3W warm-white LED G9 at 2700K-3000K to complement the warm tones in the alabaster and brass.
Does each alabaster globe look the same?
No. Each 120mm globe is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, cream tones and pale gold marbling vary between pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect, and the variation is most visible when the bulb is lit.
Is the Risa suitable for bathrooms?
The Risa does not carry a bathroom IP rating in the supplied specification, so it should be installed in dry interior locations only. For zoned bathroom installation, choose a fitting with a stated IP44 or IP65 rating.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the globe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth, and use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water for stubborn marks. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, which can stain or etch the stone.
