Ralph is an outdoor table lamp with a woven, tapered shade on a slim stem and a low cross-shaped base, finished in Metallic Brown. It stands 58cm tall, the shade is 35cm across and the base spans 28cm, so it sits comfortably on a garden table, a low wall or a side table without crowding it. The open weave lets the light through the shade, so it glows rather than glares, which is what makes a woven shade so pleasant after dark. It takes one E27 bulb, sold separately, which gives the lamp its light, so you can choose the warmth and brightness that suit the spot.

With an IP65 rating, Ralph is made for outdoor living: a patio table, the edge of a terrace, a balcony table or an outdoor dining table, wherever you want light at seat height on a summer evening. It is just as at home indoors, beside the sofa in a living room or on a bedside table, so it can come inside when the evenings turn cold and earn its keep all year. It plugs in and runs on 230V, so there is no wiring in to arrange; simply set it within reach of your power supply.

The stem, base and woven shade are all in Metallic Brown, a warm, earthy colour that sits naturally against planting, paving and timber, and looks just as right beside wood and linen indoors. The IP65 rating means the lamp is protected against dust and against jets of water, so a shower of rain will not trouble it. It is a Class II fitting, which means it is double insulated and needs no earth connection. At 58cm tall, it puts the light close to eye level for anyone seated, so place it on the table you sit around rather than at the edge of a lawn.
