Description

The Radial 2X100W is a round ceiling canopy for a cluster of up to 8 pendants. It gives no light of its own. Inside are two built-in drivers of 100W each. They take the 230V mains supply and feed the pendants at 24V DC, so the canopy powers the whole arrangement. The pendants are each sold separately, which leaves you free to choose your pendants and hang them from its outlets. It is 39.5cm across and only 3.7cm tall, a flat, plain disc that sits close to the ceiling with the drivers built in out of sight.

Because it feeds its pendants at 24V DC, this canopy belongs to a low voltage pendant system. It gathers several drops at one point on the ceiling: over a long dining table, down a stairwell or in a tall hallway. It is for indoor use. It dims by DALI or push, so the light from the pendants can be dimmed through a DALI control system or from a push switch, whichever your home is set up for. To finish the arrangement you need the pendants themselves and the accessory for hanging the electric cable, which is not included and is sold separately. It is the part the cable hangs from.

It comes in White, Black, Brushed Champagne, Matt Black, Brushed Bronze and Brushed Brass, so you can match the canopy to your pendants or to the ceiling itself. White sits quietly on a white ceiling, while the brushed finishes carry a fine, soft grain rather than a mirror shine. It is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. We suggest choosing the pendants and the cable accessory at the same time, so the whole arrangement is ready when your electrician comes to fit it. Our photographs show the black version.
