Description

The Perris S/47 is an outdoor pendant light that is just as at home indoors, with a rounded globe shade of beige synthetic polyethylene fibre woven in an open, even pattern. The shade is 47cm across and 21cm tall, with a 34cm opening underneath, and it hangs from a canopy 12cm across, giving an overall height of 200cm. Inside is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 17.1W and gives 967 lumens of warm 2700K light, with a CRI of 90, so food, faces and fabrics keep their true colours beneath it.

Its IP54 rating means it can hang outdoors as well as indoors, so we like it where a home opens onto the garden and you want the same light on both sides of the door. Indoors, hang it over a dining table, where the open base sends light down onto the table while the weave glows softly around it, or in a living room above a coffee table or a favourite chair. Outside, it suits a covered terrace or the space over a garden dining table, keeping the evening warm and relaxed rather than bright. At 47cm across, it has enough presence to anchor a table without crowding the room.

Its woven shade is synthetic polyethylene fibre, with stainless steel and aluminium making up the rest of the fitting. It is a 230V fitting, wired in to the mains by an electrician, so plan for a qualified electrician to install it. It is TRIAC dimmable, so with a compatible dimmer you can bring it down to a gentle glow for late suppers or turn it up when the table needs clear light. As the LED is built in, there is no bulb to reach up and change, a real help for a pendant hanging over a table outside.
