This oval eyelid bulkhead is made from solid brass in a raw brass finish, with an eyelid hood over the top half of clear ribbed glass and two brass bars crossing the front as a guard. Two narrow slits in the eyelid let light escape upward, so as well as washing light downward it draws two soft bands of light up the wall. It is 21cm long, 12.5cm wide and 12cm deep, and weighs 2.4KG. It is rated IP64, which means it is dust-tight and protected from splashing water, so it can live outdoors in British weather, whatever the season.

It suits a front door, a porch, a garden wall or the side of a boathouse or workshop, anywhere a wall needs a sturdy light with real character. The maker describes these bulkheads as designed for outdoor places where an industrial or nautical look is wanted, and says the maritime influence shows in the range's materials, designs and names.
