Description

The Overlay F is a tiered floor lamp: a stack of shades layered one over another, with a cone beneath them, carried on a slim stem. It stands 170cm tall, its head is 50cm across and 24.2cm tall, and it rests on a round base 35cm across. The tiers give it its character, overlapping like the roofs of a pagoda so the head reads as one soft, layered form rather than a single shade. It comes in two finishes, Grey & Beige or Grey & Blue & Beige, so you can keep to grey and beige or bring in a note of blue.

It belongs in the living room. At 170cm it stands tall enough to sit beside a sofa or armchair and cast its light over the seat, and it is just as at home next to a low coffee table where you read or talk in the evening. The round base keeps its footprint neat, and the slim stem stays out of the way in a corner or against a wall, so it fits a room without crowding it. The lamp runs on mains power. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry rooms indoors only.

It takes one E27 bulb of up to 13W, sold separately, which is what gives the lamp its light, so pick one up in the colour of light you like. The Overlay F is not dimmable, so plan on using it at full brightness rather than pairing it with a dimmer. Both finishes, Grey & Beige and Grey & Blue & Beige, carry their colours across the tiers of the head. The design is by e27, Tim Brauns.
