Description

The Ombra Nero Marquina is a tall, slender LED floor lamp: a long cylindrical fabric shade runs beside a thin upright stem in brushed brass, rising from a compact black base. The light source is integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 30W and gives 1589 lumens of warm white light at 2700K, with a CRI of 90, so wood, fabrics and skin tones look true. The lamp stands 183.2cm tall; the shade is just 7cm across, and the round base is 11cm across and 20cm tall.

That narrow footprint suits a living room, where it can stand at the end of a sofa, beside an armchair or in a corner that needs a column of soft light without a bulky shade taking up space. The fabric shade diffuses the light evenly along its length, giving a gentle glow rather than a bright point, which makes it a good choice for evenings, a reading chair or a room lit in layers. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It plugs in, so there is nothing to wire, and it can move with you as the room changes.

The brushed brass finish has a soft, low sheen that sits comfortably with warm woods, pale upholstery and darker accents, while the small black base gives the slim stem a neat, solid look. It runs on 230V and dims with the dimmer on its cable, so you can bring the light down for a quiet evening without changing anything at the wall. A light dusting with a soft, dry cloth keeps the shade and the brass looking their best. Stand it on a flat, level floor, a little clear of doorways and busy paths, where it is unlikely to be knocked. It has a plug on its cable, and we include a UK adaptor in the box, so it is ready for a UK socket.
