Description

The Nut B/90 is a bollard light for the garden: a slim square post that rises 90cm out of the ground, topped by a single bell-shaped head angled down towards the path or border at its foot. The head is 10cm across and projects 17.5cm from the post, and the fitting is 11.6cm long. Light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. At 6.3W it gives 374 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, so planting, stone and paving keep their natural colour after dark. It is finished in Textured Terracotta, a warm earthy colour that sits comfortably against greenery and brick.

This is an outdoor light rated IP65, so it suits an open garden as well as a sheltered corner. We like it lining a path, marking the edge of a lawn, lighting garden steps or standing beside a patio or front door, where the head points its light down to the ground to help you find your way. A few placed along a border give a calm, low glow between the shrubs. It is dimmable on TRIAC with a compatible dimmer, so you can keep the light soft for evenings outside or turn it up when guests arrive.

The bollard is made from stainless steel, aluminium and PA12, with a round base plate at the foot of the post and a 12cm anchor that goes below ground. The Textured Terracotta finish gives the post and head a textured surface in a colour that suits planting, gravel and old stone. It runs on 230V mains and is wired in by an electrician, so it is a fitting for a qualified electrician to install. The design is by Estudi Manel Molina. As a practical note, at 90cm tall it is high enough to stand clear of low planting along a path and low enough to sit among shrubs.
