Description
The Noctyra is a single-light alabaster wall fitting built around a 150mm sphere of natural Spanish alabaster, mounted forward of a circular brushed brass backplate. A single E14 lamp sits inside the sphere, lighting the stone from within so the alabaster itself becomes the diffuser. The brass plate sits flush to the wall and frames the globe with a defined circular outline.
Suited to hallways, bedside positions, lounge alcoves and dining room walls, the Noctyra works as ambient or accent lighting rather than directed task light. The 150mm globe gives a soft pool of light at head height when fitted at standard 1.5-1.7m mounting height, and pairs well in mirrored arrangements either side of a bed, console table or fireplace. The fitting wires into a standard wall point and sits close to the wall surface, keeping projection minimal in narrower hallways.
Each alabaster sphere is cut from a natural block of Spanish alabaster, so the mineral veining, warm honey tones and translucency vary between individual pieces. The brushed finish on the brass backplate softens reflections and reads as a warm gold rather than a mirror-bright yellow, which keeps the focus on the stone when the light is on. The proportional relationship between the disc plate and the sphere gives the fitting a clean, geometric profile against plain or papered walls.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take and is one included?
The Noctyra takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED of 3-6W at 2700K-3000K typically gives the most flattering light through the alabaster, matching the stone's natural warm tone.
Is it dimmable?
The fitting itself has no integrated driver, so dimmability depends on the E14 bulb chosen and the dimmer fitted on the circuit. A dimmable LED E14 paired with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer will allow the light to be dimmed.
Does the alabaster vary between pieces?
Yes. Each sphere is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, honey tones and translucency differ between individual pieces. The variation is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Alabaster is porous and softer than marble, so avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, and do not soak the stone with water.
