Description

The Nans S/55 is a woven outdoor pendant light with a wide, shallow shade that fans out from its fitting like a broad brimmed hat, 55cm across and 12cm tall. The shade is synthetic fibre in Beige (with Light Blue and Light Grey), so the pale weave carries quiet threads of colour, and it hangs from an aluminium structure in Graphite Brown with a canopy 12cm across. A white, rounded diffuser sits at the centre beneath the weave. The light is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change: 8W giving 437lm of warm 2700K light, with a CRI of 90 so faces, food and fabrics keep their true colour.

Rated IP54 and made for outdoor use, it suits a porch, a covered terrace, a pergola or a patio table, and it is just as happy indoors over a dining table or in a living room, where the weave brings a relaxed, summery feel. We like one hung over a table, where the broad shade gives the table a clear centre, and two or three in a row suit a longer table. It is TRIAC dimmable, so on a compatible dimmer you can lower it for a long evening meal and raise it again for clearing away.

The structure is aluminium in Graphite Brown, a dark, quiet frame for the lighter woven shade of synthetic fibre. The fitting is 200cm in height overall. It runs on 230V mains and is a Class I fitting, wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. Before you order, measure the drop you want over your table or terrace, and allow for the 55cm width of the shade so it sits comfortably clear of walls and beams.
