Description

The Nans S/16/H is a small woven pendant light made for outdoors and in. Its barrel-shaped shade is woven from synthetic fibre in Beige (with Light Blue and Light Grey) and hangs from a Graphite Brown structure, measuring 16.5cm tall and 16.7cm across. Inside sits an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 8W and gives 285lm of warm 2700K light, a soft glow that shows through the open weave rather than a bright working light, and with a CRI of 90 the colours of food, faces and planting look true beneath it.

With an IP54 rating, this outdoor pendant light suits outdoor use, so it can hang over a garden table, under a pergola or from the beams of a covered terrace where you eat on summer evenings. It is just as at home indoors, low over a dining table or in a quiet corner of a living room. It plugs in, with a 3.9m cable that gives you good length to reach a socket from where it hangs, and it runs at 230V. That makes it a simple way to bring light to a spot with no fitting of its own.

The structure is made from stainless steel and aluminium in a Graphite Brown finish, and the shade is synthetic fibre, woven in an open lattice so the light falls through the gaps in a gentle pattern. We like it for its scale: at 16.7cm across it sits comfortably over a small bistro table, and it is light enough in look to hang in a pair or a row over a longer one. Its integrated LED, IP54 rating and long cable mean it is ready to light a table outdoors or in as soon as it is hung and plugged in. The wall bracket and wall socket in our photographs are not included. It has a plug on its cable, and we include a UK adaptor in the box, so it is ready for a UK socket. Outdoors, the plug and the adaptor must sit in a covered, weatherproof outdoor socket.
