Description

The Murané Street is a track ceiling light with a single round globe of Smoke Grey glass, 15cm across, held beneath a short collar in a Brushed Champagne finish. The glass has a gently rippled, uneven surface that catches the light and breaks it into soft highlights, so the globe looks lightly textured rather than perfectly smooth. Inside sits an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 4W and gives 167lm at 2700K, a warm white, with a CRI of 90 so food, fabrics and skin tones look true. It dims on a DALI control system.

It belongs to the Murané Street track system and mounts on the Murané Street 48V track, sold separately, which runs across the ceiling and carries power to each light along it. The track itself is fed by a Murané Street 48V power supply for the track, also sold separately. The light runs at 48V DC from a remote 48V DC driver, sold separately, which turns the mains supply into the low voltage it needs; this is wired in to the mains by an electrician. In the kitchen it works well over an island, giving a warm, low pool of light where you gather. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.

It is a Class III fitting, which means it runs on a low voltage supply rather than straight from the mains. The Brushed Champagne finish on the collar has a soft, muted sheen that sits warmly against the Smoke Grey glass, and the rippled globe gives even a single light a sense of depth when it is lit. At 15cm across it is a modest size, easy to place along a track without crowding the ceiling. As a system fitting, it is for a qualified electrician to install. The track in our photographs is not included.
