Description

The Murané Street is a track ceiling light: a single Forest Green glass globe, 15cm across, fixed directly to its track by a small Brushed Champagne fitting. The glass has a rippled, uneven surface that catches the light and gives the green real depth. Inside is an integrated LED of 4W, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It gives 167lm of warm white light at 2700K with a CRI of 90, so colours look true. It is dimmable through DALI, so it dims from a DALI control system.

We think it works best in a kitchen, along a run of track over a dining table or breakfast bar, where it gives a warm, low glow for eating and talking. At 167lm it is mood and accent light rather than a main working light, so pair it with brighter lighting over the worktops. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only and never for anywhere it can be splashed. It is a system fitting and does not work on its own. It fits the Murané Street 48V track (sold separately), which carries it across the ceiling, and that track is fed by a Murané Street 48V power supply for the track (sold separately). The light itself is powered from the mains, wired in by an electrician, through a remote 48V DC driver (sold separately), which supplies the 48V DC it runs on.

The globe is Forest Green glass, and the small fitting that holds it to the track is in a Brushed Champagne finish, a soft, pale gold tone. It is a Class III fitting running at 48V DC, and like the track and its power supply it is for a qualified electrician to install. Our practical advice: plan the length of track and everything it needs together, so the whole run is ready to go in at once. The track in our photographs is not included.
