Description

The Murané R 25 is a ring chandelier, 109cm across, strung with spheres of textured Smoke Grey glass that sit both above and below a slim ring in a Brushed Champagne finish. Each sphere is 10cm across, and the rippled surface of the glass catches and breaks up the light so the whole ring glows softly rather than glaring. The light comes from integrated LEDs, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It gives 3677 lumens at a warm 2700K, with a colour rendering index of 90, which keeps wood, fabric and skin tones looking natural beneath it.

At this size it is made for a generous room: centred over a long dining table, or hung in a living room with the height to let it float well clear of heads. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It comes without its canopy, and no version with one exists, so you will need a Murané R canopy, sold separately: the ceiling fitting the chandelier hangs from. It also needs a remote 24V DC driver, sold separately, which converts the mains supply to the low voltage the LEDs run on. It will not work without either, so we suggest ordering both together.

The chandelier runs at 24V DC and is a Class III fitting, so it takes its power from that low-voltage driver rather than straight from the mains. The driver is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician, and the chandelier is for an electrician to install too. The Brushed Champagne finish has a soft, low sheen that sits easily with warm wood and pale stone, and the Smoke Grey glass keeps the spheres clear enough to see the light within. One practical note: measure before you order, because at 109cm across this chandelier wants clear space around it on every side.
