The Murané is a small wall and ceiling light: a sphere of Forest Green glass, 10cm across, set against a dome backplate in a Brushed Champagne finish. The glass has a rippled, wavy surface that catches the light. The light source is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 4W and gives 167lm at 2700K, a warm white glow rather than a bright working light, and with a CRI of 90 the colours around it look true.

We would put it wherever a soft, low light is wanted: a hallway, a landing, a bedroom wall beside the bed, or a stairwell, where a row of them can mark the way. It fits on a ceiling or on a wall, surface-mounted or partially recessed, so it works as well overhead in a low corridor as it does at eye level in a living room alcove. It projects 13.2cm from the surface, so it stays compact and suits narrow spaces where a deeper fitting would get in the way. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry rooms only.

The pairing is simple: Forest Green glass against a Brushed Champagne dome, the brushed finish giving the backplate a soft, low sheen beside the rippled sphere. The fitting is not dimmable, so it is not one to put on a dimmer switch; it gives its full 167lm whenever it is on.
