Description
The Mica is a single-light wall fitting built around a 500mm oval disc of natural Spanish alabaster, cradled at its lower edge by a curved brushed brass arm that extends down the wall to form the bracket. The disc measures 200mm wide and the fitting projects 170mm from the wall. A single E14 lamp socket sits behind the alabaster, lighting the stone from within so the disc itself becomes the diffuser.
Designed for hallways, stairwell walls, bedside positions and lounge feature walls, the Mica works best mounted at eye level or just above, where the vertical 500mm form reads as a deliberate wall detail rather than a small accent. The 170mm projection keeps the fitting close enough to the wall to suit corridors and circulation routes without obstructing movement, while the upward orientation of the disc washes light onto the wall above and softens the surface around the fitting.
The alabaster is cut and polished from solid Spanish stone, revealing layered cream and pale gold veining that varies between individual pieces. When the lamp is off, the disc reads as a pale, softly translucent oval against the wall; when lit, the internal glow draws out the mineral patterns and the warmer tones in the stone. The brushed brass arm is solid copper with a brushed brass finish, giving the bracket a substantial feel and a low-sheen surface that pairs the metalwork to the warm tones in the alabaster rather than competing with it.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Mica take?
The fitting takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED candle bulb between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K suits the alabaster, drawing out the cream and pale gold veining without making the stone look cold.
Does each alabaster disc look the same?
No. Each disc is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, mineral patterning and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone and is most visible when the lamp is lit.
Is the Mica suitable for bathrooms?
The Mica does not carry a published IP rating, so it is intended for dry interior locations only. It is not suitable for bathroom zones or external use.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the disc with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, and do not soak the stone. The brushed brass arm can be wiped with the same dry cloth to lift dust without dulling the finish.
