Description

The Luxeon is a 3W magnetic track spotlight with an integrated dimmable LED running at 4000K cool white, housed in a cylindrical aluminium body finished in matt black. The spotlight clips onto compatible magnetic track systems using integral magnets in the base plate, allowing the fitting to be repositioned along the track run without tools or re-wiring.

Designed for accent lighting in kitchens, home offices, retail displays and gallery walls, the Luxeon directs light onto worktops, artwork, merchandise or architectural features where clear visibility and accurate colour rendering are needed. The 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral white light that sits between the warmth of residential lighting and the clinical tone of commercial fluorescents, making it suitable for task areas without feeling cold. The spotlight head tilts and rotates on its mount, allowing precise aiming once clipped into position on the track.

The dimmable LED responds to compatible dimmer switches, allowing output to be reduced from full brightness for task lighting down to lower levels for ambient wash light or evening use. The aluminium construction keeps the fitting lightweight at under 200g while providing adequate heat dissipation for the 3W LED module. The 190mm track length gives flexibility in positioning multiple Luxeon spots along the same track run to build layered lighting schemes. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only.

The Luxeon uses a magnetic mounting system. It clips onto compatible magnetic track rails rather than traditional recessed track systems. Check that your existing track is a magnetic-compatible rail before ordering, or purchase matching Ideal Lux magnetic track separately.

Is the 3W LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the spotlight body and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for 25,000+ hours of operation, which equates to approximately 10-15 years of typical residential use before noticeable lumen depreciation.

The Luxeon requires a dimmer rated for LED loads. Trailing-edge dimmers typically provide smoother dimming with fewer flicker issues than leading-edge models. Consult the dimmer manufacturer's compatibility chart or contact us for confirmed pairings.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the Luxeon has no protection against moisture and must only be installed in dry indoor locations outside bathroom zones.
